Safety Specialist
Safety Specialist at Amazon

In this role, you’ll put the vital steps in place to ensure everyone at your location works in a safe and healthy environment. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a difference to people every day. By proactively keeping them safe, you’ll also empower them to feel confident in their roles and motivated to do their best work.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Monitor site performance against set KPIs and create plans to improve processes.
- Set up workplace health and safety programmes and arrange training sessions.
- Analyse safety metrics and incident trends to help colleagues plan appropriate resources for areas with the highest risk.
- Carry out audits to ensure your site is compliant with relevant health and safety laws, and implement solutions where risks are identified.

A Day in the Life
You’ll be based on-site at one of our fulfilment centres, sortation centres, or delivery stations. Being on-site means you can:
- Keep a close eye on processes and health and safety compliance.
- Spot potential issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with people across the business to understand risks.
- Gather data to drive smarter and safer working practices.
- Set up training and programmes to help everyone follow new safety processes and reach new standards.
About The Team
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our team mentally and physically well. The team:
- Works with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites.
- Ensures compliance with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations.
- Has a range of opportunities, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers.
- Supports high safety and wellbeing standards through projects like equipment inspections, process assessments, and building/equipment design.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A degree or equivalent qualification (in line with the European Qualifications Framework - EFQ) in the Occupational Safety field.
- Relevant experience managing a team.
- Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in emergency response.
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Experience in planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives.
