Safety Technician (Workplace Health and Safety)
Keeping our people safe and well at work is a top priority at Amazon. Our Safety Technicians play an essential role in making this happen. This role is an opportunity to start your career in workplace safety and develop through a global company. You’ll work closely with our experts to monitor your site, which means you’ll get to see the difference that you make to people's well-being every day.
This role requires flexibility to work night shifts.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Carry out risk assessments and audits
- Monitor the site to ensure processes align with Amazon's safety procedures
- Create and update safety metrics reports for colleagues to review
- Collaborate with colleagues in Operations and across the business on safety-related tasks and provide guidance on processes
- Support in implementing new safety measures
A Day in the Life
You'll be based at one of our sites, allowing you to closely track operations, and associates can easily ask questions during their shifts. This role focuses on identifying potential issues before they occur by:

- Checking the site frequently
- Observing and understanding how people use equipment
- Ensuring every task and machine operates safely
Additionally, you’ll be involved in applying safety changes and working closely with the Operations team on a variety of ad-hoc tasks.
As a critical part of the team, you gather and analyze vital data to maintain adherence to safety standards while sharing insights across different business areas.
About The Team
Our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team ensures the well-being of our associates from a mental and physical safety perspective. The team works closely with managers, associates, and local governments to:
- Ensure compliance with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations
- Keep workplaces running safely
- Offer diverse opportunities in fields ranging from heath and safety technician roles to programme management
Teams within WHS often work on projects involving:
- Equipment and process inspections
- Assessing high-risk work processes
- *Design reviews for buildings and equipment
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- A Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of advanced English at CEFR level B2/C1
- Experience with running metrics reports
- Background in analyzing data to identify issues and using data-driven insights to describe metrics

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders (writing or presentations)
- Ability to work both independently and in teams
