Safety Technician
Amazon Safety Technician

This role requires flexibility to cover Night Shifts.
About the Role
As a Safety Technician, you’ll work across multiple sites to monitor, assess, and improve workplace safety. By getting to know teams, processes, and equipment, you’ll proactively identify risks and implement solutions that protect our people. Your work is vital in ensuring compliance with Amazon’s safety standards, legal regulations, and workplace wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out risk assessments and audits
- Monitor site operation to ensure Amazon’s safety procedures are followed
- Create and update reports on safety metrics for colleagues
- Collaborate with Operations and business teams on safety-related tasks and processes
- Guide improvements and help implement new safety measures
Your role will also involve:
- Tracking day-to-day workplace activities to spot potential hazards
- Understanding task workflows to propose safe working methods
- Supporting the Operations team with ad-hoc safety projects
- Sharing safety data with wider teams to drive proactive decision-making

A Day in the Life
You’ll be based at Amazon sites, ensuring you can quickly address concerns and provide guidance. This means:
Spot issues before they arise by closely monitoring equipment and workflows.
- Get to know how tasks, machinery, and people function behind the scenes.
- Be a key contributor to improving processes that directly impact workplace safety.
New safety measures and adjustments will be one of the main actions you implement, with frequent collaboration across teams, projects, and sites.
About the Team
Our Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team has a multi-faceted role:
- Supporting managers and colleagues at sites across the UK.
- Ensuring compliance with Amazon policies and legal regulations.
- Continuously improving safety and wellbeing standards.
Whether in operations, design, or consulting, every member focuses on maintaining safety excellence. Opportunities exist ranging from technician roles to programme management in areas such as:
- Process and equipment assessments
- New build design and safety integration
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Qualification in Health and Safety: NVQ Level 3 or equivalently certificated through NEBOSH National General Certificate.
- Language Proficiency: Advanced English skills (equivalent to CEFR level B2/C1).
- Technical & Analytical Skills: Experience running metrics reports; using data analysis to identify problems and present recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications (Not essential to apply but highly valued)
- Experience communicating clearly with diverse stakeholders, including written reports and presentations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
