How you will contribute?
- Proactively motivate and lead a Team of Managers to achieve planned targets and ensure deadlines are met by providing guidance and encouragement
- Support the delivery and monitor and report the operational daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly KPI’s with a lens on data-led decisions
- Support and lead a proactive approach to health, safety, and wellbeing ensuring the Team comply with Health and Safety policies & reporting
- Analyse Performance reports, making recommendations for improvements based on fact that can be clearly presented and articulated to the Customer
- Provide a responsive & professional service to customers and the Wincanton Team
- Review team performance by regular review including the use of a Personal Development Review
- Manage performance, timekeeping, attendance, overtime, and sickness levels of individual colleagues and action as per procedures
- Be committed to continuous development in line with operational needs, striving for increased efficiency, productivity, and growth for yourself and your team
- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective management of the operation
- Ensure effective communication throughout the operation communicating planned requirements providing information on performance, company news, and procedures
- Act as key holder for designated site(s) as required
- Monitor and manage agreed budgets
- Managing customer expectations, ensuring all escalations are dealt with to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Site Security Responsible (SSR) for site as part of known consignor requirements ISO:9001 supporting
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Customer leads
- Alongside the other Shift Managers, manage and lead the onsite Union relationship and meetings
- Deliver and support the action required by following company procedure and aim to resolve grievances on a day-to-day basis through leading by example
- Deputise for the Depot Operations Manager and cover the duties of other Shift Managers as required

What you will bring?
- Able to provide and understand the need for a high standard of customer service
- A proactive, flexible, and "can do" attitude to resolve issues and challenges
- Proven experience to manage and motivate teams to achieve results
- PC literate and numerate with good communication skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office as required
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Flexibility is required regarding shift patterns
- Possess a positive attitude and the ability to suggest methods of improvement and be actively involved in improvement techniques
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit the audience
- Demonstrate active deployment of Six Sigma and Lean techniques
- Strong operational knowledge / background
- Project leadership and management experience
- People Management skills
- Ability to train others to a high standard
