Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will provide safe, effective, and patient-centred general medical services as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team. The role includes:
- Contributing to clinical decision making
- Supporting continuity of care
- Working collaboratively to improve patient outcomes
There is scope to be involved in service development, clinical leadership, and practice sustainability, depending on experience and role type.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
- Ideally 4 sessions per week.
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services within a multidisciplinary primary care team.
- Undertake clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients, ensuring safe and effective decision making.
- Support continuity of care and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver services effectively.
- Contribute to quality improvement, service development, and innovation within the practice.
- Participate in clinical leadership and practice sustainability activities, where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and a current licence to practise.
- Included on the NHS England GP Performers List (or eligible to apply).
- Demonstrates a commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good clinical decision making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to professional development, appraisal, and revalidation.
- Ability to manage workload safely and effectively within a modern general practice environment.
- Shares the practice values of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.

Desirable
- Experience of working in UK general practice.
- Interest in or experience of quality improvement, audit, or service development.
- Familiarity with total triage or digital access systems (e.g. Anima).
- Interest in developing or maintaining a special clinical interest.
- Experience of or interest in teaching, mentoring, or supervision.
- For partnership applicants, an interest in clinical leadership, practice development, and long-term sustainability.
- Willingness to contribute to the future direction and success of the practice.
