Salaried GP Roles

Note: Near Spennymoor | Minimal Home Visits | Structured Day


About the Role

A manageable, highly structured 6-session GP role within a small, established practice. Enjoy a well-organized working day with minimal home visits, strong multidisciplinary team (MDT) support, and strong clinical backing—meaning you’re never truly working in isolation.


Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £12,000 per session

Workload & Structure

  • Sessions: 6 (Wednesday–Friday)
  • Working hours: 9am–6pm (with 111 cover available after 6pm)
  • No traditional duty doctor model

Appointments & Daily Clinic Structure

  • Morning:
    • 15 patients (6 telephonic consultations, 9 face-to-face)
  • Afternoon:
    • 13 patients (4 telephonic consultations, 9 face-to-face)
  • Mix of 10-minute calls and 15-minute F2F appointments
  • Minimal home visits
  • Daily visit slot rarely used and often used for admin duties
  • Meetings scheduled during sessions, replacing clinical slots

Clinical Support

Care supported by a well-developed multidisciplinary practice:

  • Australian-trained ANP support available daily
  • Pharmacy team:
    • Senior Clinical Pharmacist
    • Dedicated Pharmacy Technician
    • Additional PCN pharmacy support → GPs not responsible for medication queries
  • Full PCN MDT includes:
    • First Contact Mental Health
    • First Contact Physio
    • Care Coordinators (including a dedicated complex patient care lead)
  • Safeguarding leadership in place
  • Wider clinical leadership network

The Practice

A small, established practice (sub 5,000 patients) with dedicated resources:

  • Recognised as a deep-end practice, attracting extra funding and support
  • Consistently high QOF achievement despite complex patient demographics
  • Strong partnership with an adjacent pharmacy
  • Dedicated quiet admin space for focused work
  • Twice-daily team breaks for coffee to foster cohesion

Requirements

You must be:

  • Qualified as a General Practitioner
  • Registered with the GMC & UK Performers List
