Salaried General Practitioner Job Description
About the Role Azile Medical is seeking a dedicated Salaried GP to join a well-established Haringey practice, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across a mix of clinical sessions and team-based responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated GP looking to contribute to a collaborative environment with opportunities in clinical development, teaching, and service improvement.
Key Details
- Reporting to: Practice Partner
- Location: Haringey, London
- Salary: £11,500 – £12,000 per session (dependent on experience)
- Hours of work:
- Standard GP sessions: 09:00 – 13:10 and 14:20 – 18:30
- Typical weekly requirement: 5–6 clinical sessions
- Working pattern:
- Tuesdays: AM & PM sessions (standard or Duty Doctor cover during GP Partner leave)
- Thursdays: Preferred PM Duty Doctor session (AM sessions also available)
- Fridays: AM standard session or Duty Doctor cover / PM Duty Doctor session

Job Summary
The post holder will work as a Salaried GP, providing safe, effective, and patient-centred care through consultations, clinical management, and teamwork within the Practice.
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Conduct morning and afternoon GP clinic sessions (face-to-face and/or telephone consultations)
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Record all patient consultations accurately on the clinical system
- Provide telephone clinical advice to patients and staff when required
- Carry out home visits for patients unable to attend the surgery
- Review and interpret laboratory results, hospital letters, and discharge summaries
- Perform medication reviews and manage repeat prescriptions via EPS
- Handle medication queries and ensure safe prescribing practices
Administrative & Practice Support
- Complete referral letters and clinical documentation in a timely manner
- Support clinical and administrative staff with medical queries
- Participate in duty doctor system within the team across sites

Quality, Governance & Practice Development
- Contribute to improving Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) performance
- Participate in Locally Commissioned Services (LCS), Local Improvement Schemes (LIS), and Directed Enhanced Services (DES)
- Support Primary Care Network (PCN) activities and initiatives
Education, Training & Leadership
- Attend practice meetings, clinical training sessions, and CPD activities
- Supervise and support medical students and junior doctors when required
- Participate in mentoring and teaching activities within the Practice
- Contribute to professional development and appraisal requirements
Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake management or extended roles (e.g., MDT participation, QOF lead tasks, teaching sessions)
- Support service improvement and development within the Practice
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by partners or practice management
