Primary Care - GP Practices
General Practice offers a unique opportunity to care for patients throughout every stage of life. From supporting young families and managing acute illness, to helping patients live well with long-term conditions and providing compassionate end-of-life care, you'll build meaningful relationships that make a lasting difference.
Across our practices, we combine the continuity and community focus that make General Practice rewarding with the stability, support, and development opportunities of a larger healthcare organisation.
Working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams including GPs, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, Healthcare Assistants, Care Coordinators, and administrative colleagues, you'll be supported to deliver safe, effective, and personalised care while developing your own professional interests and career aspirations.
Why Join Us?
At Eyam Surgery, we recognise that no two GPs are the same. That's why we work collaboratively with our clinicians to develop mutually agreed job plans that support both the needs of our patients and the professional interests, strengths, and ambitions of our GPs.
We believe the people delivering care are best placed to help shape it. Our clinicians are actively involved in conversations about service development, operational improvements, and innovative ways of working, helping influence the future direction of Primary Care across our practices.
Working with us, you'll benefit from:
- A mutually agreed job plan designed around safe, effective patient care.
- Opportunities to influence service design and operational decision-making.
- Supportive multidisciplinary teams including pharmacists, nurses, ACPs, and care coordinators.
- EMIS Web clinical systems.
- Protected time for the activities that support safe clinical practice.
- Opportunities to develop leadership, education, quality improvement, and specialist interests.
- Flexible working opportunities where service needs allow.
- NHS Pension Scheme and continuity of service recognition where applicable.
- The stability and support of a not-for-profit wider healthcare organisation (DHU) focused on delivering outstanding patient care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As a Salaried GP within our Practice, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to diverse local communities.
You'll assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of presentations, providing safe and effective treatment across both routine and urgent care settings. Your clinical expertise will support patients with acute illness, long-term condition management, preventative healthcare, and complex care needs, helping improve health outcomes and patient experience.

- Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List.
- Excellent clinical decision-making skills.
- A commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A desire to contribute to continuous improvement and professional development.
