Salaried GP – Fixed-Term Contract (12 Months)

Location:

Giffard Drive Surgery | Farnborough, UK

Working Hours & Contract Details:

  • Part-time (4 sessions per week): Tuesdays & Fridays, 8:30am – 6:30pm
  • Salary: £11,000 per session
  • Contract Type: Fixed-term (12 months)

Job Summary

The salaried GP will provide autonomous, high-quality clinical care adhering to NHS/GMS contract obligations while contributing to practice governance, training, and continuous improvement.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Delivering excellent medical care aligned with NHS standards
  • Managing long-term conditions effectively
  • Handling generic prescribing according to national/local guidelines
  • Managing referrals, repeat prescriptions, and administrative workflows
  • Undertaking rotational duty cover
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records
  • Leading by example in clinical governance, training, and financial stewardship

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Provide 24/7 appointed cover (on a rotational basis)
  • Ensure adherence to GMC guidance and clinical best practices
  • Achieve high QOF standards with delegated responsibility for specific areas

Administrative & Managerial Duties

  • Manage referrals, prescriptions, and patient records efficiently
  • Participate in appraisals, revalidation, and mandatory training
  • Contribute to quality audits, events reviews (RCA), and practice improvements
  • Assist in medical student training

Collaborative Work

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture with multidisciplinary teams
  • Support practice strategies for revenue growth and cost savings
  • Engage in service development initiatives

Requirements

Qualifications & Licensing

  • Recognised primary medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Certificate of Completion of GP Training (CCT)
  • GP on NHS Performer’s List
  • Full GMC registration
  • DBS check (Disclosure & Barring Service clearance)
