Job Purpose

The SABIC United Kingdom polyolefin market is a competitive one in an extensive part of Europe and serves many different market segments. There is a highly dynamic pricing volatility with bottom-line impact.

Prices of materials sold are highly volatile and realization of price and volume targets have high impact on Business results.

SABIC wants to increase its sales in the United Kingdom

Job Requirements

  • To promote SABIC generally on the plastics market and maintain contacts with existing and potential customers.
  • To develop new business/applications in line with BU strategy in the area of United Kingdom.
  • To lead profitable growth of Contribution Margin in the area
  • To support agreed sales- strategic plans per Business Units in the given area – secure growth ambitions.
  • Manage total business at customers within given area/market application in terms of commercial, technical and financial matters according to company rules and product policy guidelines.
  • Assess credit worthiness of customers and manage DSO.
  • To recommend need for technical support at customers and resolve technical complaints with competent SABIC technical service colleagues.
  • Maintain active knowledge of trends and developments in the industry to help SABIC to formulate medium and long-term policy.
  • To collect /interpret market intelligence and transmit to SABIC UK.
  • To work with the Region NWE Sales Leader (United Kingdom, Nordic, Benelux) to monitor performances and to recommend policies to meet short and long term plans.

Knowledge & Education

  • Material technology and application know how. Academic educational level required.
  • Broad knowledge and commercial experience in International Chemical companies
  • Skills to influence and encourage customers to follow certain directions. Good interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding company strategy and philosophy

Experience

  • Minimum five years sales experience/knowledge of plastics industry and market.
  • Bachelor of science degree or above
  • To understand customers/people, and to be a capable negotiator and influencer.
  • Strong result orientation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Have sufficient knowledge of how commercial activities runs in terms of order processing, credit, accounts, purchasing etc
  • Experience /knowledge of plastics industry and market.
  • Ability to identify and exploit business opportunities
  • Applicants must have native level proficiency in English
  • Applicants must be resident in England
