The Role – Why This Matters
The International Sales team at Simon & Schuster seeks an enthusiastic and organised Administrator for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the International Key Account Manager, the Sales Administrator will provide critical support to ensure the smooth execution of international sales operations, working closely with a diverse portfolio of global customers and cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Services, Finance, Inventory, Marketing, Publicity, and Distribution).
Key Responsibilities
Admin & Operational Support
- Provide administrative support to the International Sales team, including:
- Processing customer orders, returns, and quotation requests efficiently
- Managing sales data, inventory tracking, and customer relationships
- Liaising with internal teams (Customer Services, Finance, Marketing, Distribution)

Reporting & Analysis
- Produce, analyse, and distribute accurate sales reports using Microsoft Excel and company systems
- Support ad hoc commercial reporting and project work
Promotions & Events
- Assist in planning and logistical coordination for author events and promotional activities
Process Improvement
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to workflows and administrative processes
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Qualities
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Strong confidence in working with cross-functional teams
- Able to take initiative while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
Relevant Experience
Ideally some experience in:
- Administrative support, sales, operations, or customer services
- Preferred within fast-paced, commercial settings (e.g., publishing, distribution, retail)
- Experience with general ledger systems or publishing inventory tools would be beneficial
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong grasp of grammar
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Willingness to learn and understand publishing operations, particularly in international sales
