Sales Adviser – Housebuilding (Role Name)
Our Sales Advisers are instrumental in helping customers realise their dreams by securing their ideal home. In this role, the focus is on delivering outstanding customer service throughout the entire sales journey.
Key Deliverables
As a Sales Adviser, you will be expected to:

Build strong relationships with customers by demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills, including:
- Active listening
- Effective questioning
- Empathy
- Product demonstration
- Closing techniques

Report to a Sales Manager, taking ownership of key responsibilities including:
- Demonstrating comprehensive local knowledge – including amenity awareness, schools, transport links and occupational insight.
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of products, pricing strategies and market conditions.
- Utilising lead follow-up and conversion skills to turn enquiries into site visits.
- Employing company sales methodologies, schemes and incentive structures to successfully close deals.
- Achieving targeted sales performance, reflecting team and corporate expectations.
Core Requirements
To excel in this role, we seek candidates with:
Successful experience in delivering sales within a service-based environment (examples include house-building, retail, hospitality, private banking or estate agency).
- A commercially astute mind, underpinned by a strong awareness of market dynamics and competitors’ positioning.
- A customer-centric approach; proactive in understanding and responding to customer needs to ensure brand reputation is maintained.
- Resilience and determination to continually exceed sales targets and adapt to new challenges.
- A calm, composed demeanour under pressure.
- Market awareness, including adaptability to legislative changes, economic trends and technological advancements.
- Influence and persuasiveness; skilled in assertive communication and relationship-building with both customers and internal stakeholders.
- An innovative mindset that embraces process improvement and team collaboration.
- Strong self-direction and professional discretion, functioning effectively without constant oversight.
- Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills.
- Dedicated IT literacy (proficient with digital tools used in the role).
- Flexibility in terms of working patterns – prepared to work weekends and bank holidays as required.
- Flexibility in travel—including occasional last-minute adjustments to logistical arrangements.
- A full valid driving license, along with vehicle access for business-related travel.
