Sales Adviser – Home Sales | Barratt Redrow
About the Role
Our Sales Advisers help customers find their dream home while delivering exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales journey.
You’ll need to excel in interpersonal skills—building rapport, understanding needs, demonstrating empathy, conducting effective product presentations, and closing sales. Reporting to a Sales Manager, you’ll play a vital role in converting leads into sales while upholding industry knowledge and product expertise.
Key Responsibilities

Local Knowledge & Product Expertise
- Demonstrate deep understanding of local amenities, schools, transport links, and competitor properties
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our product range, pricing, and available storage/shipping schemes

Customer Engagement & Sales Process
- Secure effective lead follow-up to convert enquiries into site visits
- Utilise our proven sales methodology, schemes, and incentives to close deals
- Achieve sales targets aligned with business requirements

Professional Standards & Compliance
- Stay updated on key legislation, market trends, and economic conditions
- Apply positive problem-solving under pressure while delivering customer-centric service

Team & Relationship Building
- Foster collaborative working, sharing best practices with colleagues
- Strengthen relationships across internal and external functions
- Work autonomously without constant supervision

Essential Requirements
- Industry Experience: Proven sales experience in a customer-facing environment (e.g., housebuilding, retail, hospitality, banking, or estate agency)
- Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of market dynamics and competitive strategies
- Customer Focus: Ability to identify and fulfilling customer needs, safeguarding sales/reputation
- Resilience & Drive: Thrives under pressure, maintains motivation, and hits targets
- Communication & Negotiation: Persuasive, influential, capable of assertive negotiation
- Adaptability: Open to change and evaluations of new working approaches
- Knowledge Sharing: Acts as a mentor, fosters team growth through shared expertise
- Self-Sufficiency: Works independently with minimal direct oversight
- Technology Savvy: Efficient with standard office and sales tools (IT proficient)
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility:
- Available for weekend, bank holiday, and short-notice work shifts
- Willing to travel, including remote locations
- Licensing & Transport:
- Full, valid driving licence
- Must hold or be allocated company transport for business travel
