Jewson are looking for a Yard/Office Sales Advisor to join the friendly, supportive team at our branch in Gillingham, Kent (ME8 0QQ). Due to the team size in branch, we are looking for someone who has a passion for sales, but also has a willingness to support the rest of the team. So this role is a hybrid of a Sales Advisor and a Yard Advisor.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:30-1700, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Identify new business opportunities and proactively pursue new customer accounts through strategic prospecting.
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships by understanding their needs, upselling and cross-selling solutions.
  • Ensure new customers are successfully onboarded and activated, maximising spend potential within the first 13 weeks.
  • Drive increased profitability by optimising margins and increasing the share of wallet from each customer.
  • Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring accurate forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations and presentations to build rapport and drive sales.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on sales activities, customer feedback and market insights.
  • Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service.
  • Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs.
  • Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor.
  • Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles.
  • Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required.
  • Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided).
