McGuirks Golf has been serving the golfing market in Ireland for over 50 years and is recognized as Ireland's leading supplier of golf equipment both in-store and online.
The business began in Howth Golf Club in 1967, with a focus on offering quality brands at affordable prices to golfers nationwide. Since opening its first large retail store in Howth in 1993, McGuirks Golf has continued to expand and strengthen its presence. Opening its first Scottish store in 2025 in Edinburgh.
The company is known for excellent value and discounts across all its stores and is an official stockist of major brands such as Under Armour, Callaway, TaylorMade, Adidas, Nike, Ping, and many more. Team members join a trusted, customer-focused retailer with a strong reputation in the golfing community.
Role Description
The Sales Advisor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Edinburgh. In this role, the Sales Advisor provides knowledgeable, friendly customer service to help customers select golf equipment, apparel, and accessories that best meet their needs.

- Greeting customers
- Offering product advice
- Demonstrating features
- Supporting fitting and sizing as appropriate
The Sales Advisor processes sales transactions, maintains merchandising standards, replenishes stock, and helps keep the store clean and organized. The role also involves staying up to date with product lines, promotions, and brand information, and supporting colleagues with training and team initiatives to ensure a positive in-store experience.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of customers.
- Effective communication skills, including clear, professional verbal and written communication.
- Customer service skills with a focus on delivering helpful, respectful, and solutions-oriented support.
- Sales skills, including product recommendation, upselling where appropriate, and closing transactions confidently.
- Previous experience in training or a willingness to learn and share product knowledge with team members.
- Interest in golf and familiarity with golf equipment and apparel is highly beneficial. Custom Fitting experience would also be a benefit.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak trading periods, as required.
- Basic IT and POS (point-of-sale) skills and comfort handling cash and card transactions.
- Previous retail experience, especially in sports or specialty stores, is an advantage but not mandatory.
