Global Independent Contractor Opportunity
The Global Mayors Academy is seeking independent Sales Representatives from around the world to help introduce and sell the City Leaders Program to mayors, city leaders, government organisations, and strategic partners.
This is a self-employed, commission-only opportunity. Representatives are engaged as independent contractors and are responsible for managing their own business activities, including complying with any tax, legal, and regulatory obligations in their country of residence.
We welcome applications from all countries and regions. Your location is less important than your ability to build relationships, generate sales, and communicate effectively in English. At present, the City Leaders Program and supporting sales resources are available in English, and our primary focus is the English-speaking market.
As the Global Mayors Academy grows, we intend to expand into additional language markets. Representatives with strong networks and proven success in a particular region may have the opportunity to help establish new markets. Where there is sufficient demand and commercial viability, we will consider investing in translated programme materials, marketing resources, and sales support to enable regional growth.
This is an opportunity for entrepreneurial individuals who are motivated by performance, enjoy creating opportunities, and want to contribute to a global movement while building their own income through uncapped commission.
Company Description
The Global Mayors Academy (GMA), an initiative of Living Cities Earth (LCE), is a global leadership academy dedicated to supporting mayors, city leaders, urban changemakers, and up-and-coming young leaders in creating regenerative, thriving cities where people, communities, and nature flourish together. Rather than focusing solely on technical governance, the Academy develops the awareness, wisdom, leadership capacities, and collaborative capabilities needed to navigate the complex challenges facing cities today.
Through transformative learning experiences, global partnerships, and Living Cities Earth's action-research ecosystem, the Global Mayors Academy serves as a gateway into a broader movement that empowers cities to become thriving ecosystems where life flourishes. The Academy introduces city leaders to Living Cities Earth's wider ecosystem of programs, tools, consultancy, funding opportunities, and collaborative initiatives that support long-term regenerative city transformation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Global Mayors Academy's foundational training offer is the City Leaders Program, an introductory leadership program designed to equip mayors and city leaders with the mindsets, frameworks, and practical tools needed to ignite their city's regenerative transformation journey.
Role Description
The Sales and Marketing Representative is a remote, commission-only role focused on expanding awareness of and participation in the Global Mayors Academy. Representatives act as ambassadors for the Academy, building relationships with mayors, municipal leaders, government organisations, city networks, strategic partners, and other organisations committed to creating thriving cities.
The initial focus of this role is to promote and sell the Academy's flagship introductory offering, the City Leaders Program. As the Academy grows, representatives may also have opportunities to promote additional programmes and services across the Global Mayors Academy and the wider Living Cities Earth ecosystem.
Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying prospective clients and strategic partners, initiating outreach, presenting the Global Mayors Academy and its programmes, arranging introductory meetings and online presentations, following up with prospective participants, nurturing relationships, and supporting successful enrolments into the City Leaders Program.
Representatives will work closely with the Global Mayors Academy Marketing Team to develop outreach strategies and campaigns tailored to the sectors, regions, and markets they are targeting.
The Academy will provide marketing resources, training, and, where available, qualified leads and enquiries for representatives to follow up and pursue. Representatives are also encouraged to develop their own networks and sales opportunities, enabling them to maximise their earning potential.
This is an independent, commission-only opportunity with no base salary. Representatives earn 25–40% commission on every successful sale they generate, offering uncapped earning potential while contributing to a global movement dedicated to transforming cities.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Communication and Relationship Management skills to engage confidently and professionally with mayors, city leaders, government organisations, strategic partners, and other stakeholders.

Previous experience in business development, partnership development, consulting, education, public sector engagement, or sales is beneficial but not required.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial individuals who enjoy building relationships, creating opportunities, and working in a commission-based environment are encouraged to apply.
Training & Sales Support
This role is designed for individuals who enjoy selling, building new opportunities, and achieving results. While representatives are expected to bring strong sales energy and proactively generate business, they will not be expected to do so without support.
Successful candidates will receive training on the Global Mayors Academy, the City Leaders Program, and the wider Living Cities Earth ecosystem, together with guidance on our messaging, value proposition, and sales process. Marketing materials, presentations, and other sales resources will be provided to help representatives engage confidently with prospective clients.
Representatives will work in collaboration with the Global Mayors Academy Marketing Team, which focuses on building long-term relationships, brand awareness, and strategic engagement. The primary focus of this role, however, is to identify opportunities, generate leads, convert prospects into participants, and drive enrolments into the City Leaders Program.
Where available, qualified enquiries and leads may be provided for representatives to follow up, while representatives are also expected to develop their own pipeline and apply effective sales and marketing techniques to maximise their success.
