Sales and Retention Manager
Sales & Retention Manager
As a Sales & Retention Manager, you’ll drive membership growth, maximise retention, and ensure our live member base continues to thrive. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this full-time leadership role will involve leading sales initiatives, supporting the wider team, and ensuring a seamless member journey from their first visit onwards. You’ll be the ambassador for sales excellence in your club, setting the standard, implementing creativity, and forging strong relationships both within and beyond the gym.
About the Role
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advocating and delivering the Fundamentals sales process, training and coaching the team to achieve peak performance
- Driving new member sales while maximising retention of existing members to sustain and grow the live member movement
- Owning the activity planner for the club – orchestrating initiatives to ensure they are well-planned, executed, and impactful
- Implementing creative lead-generation strategies, both internally and externally
- Monitoring dashboards and KPIs, providing actionable insights to the team while ensuring targets are consistently met
- Boosting revenue streams from memberships, products, and secondary spend to enhance profitability
- Preparing and delivering monthly sales presentations to the wider management team
- Building strong local business partnerships and developing opportunities under #WeMoveBusinesses
- Leading by example on reception and the gym floor—role modelling exceptional member-facing service
- Engaging in national initiatives such as #WorkoutWednesday and #WeCommunicate
- Providing honest, constructive feedback to team members to support their professional growth and performance
- Assisting the General Manager in operational tasks, including health & safety, facilities, maintenance, recruitment, and maintaining presentation standards

Qualifications & About You

- A proven leader with the ability to inspire, coach, and drive a high-performing team
- Results-driven sales and retention specialist with a natural focus on growth and retention strategies
- Exceptional communicator, capable of adapting your approach to engage diverse audiences
- Positive, solutions-focused, and resilient—delivering under pressure while maintaining energy
- Ambitious and driven, eager to develop further as a leadership figure
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays to support club demands
