Sales & Retention Manager
As a Sales & Retention Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving membership growth, maximising retention, and ensuring our live member movement continues to expand. This is a full-time leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager, where you’ll lead sales initiatives, support the team, and foster a seamless member experience from first visit forward. You’ll be an ambassador for sales excellence—leading by example, implementing smart strategies, and building key relationships both inside and outside the club.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advocating and delivering the core FUNDAMENTALS sales process, coaching the team to ensure peak performance.
- Driving new member sales while maximising existing member retention to sustain and grow member engagement.
- Owning the activity planner—planning, executing, and tracking initiatives to measure impact.
- Developing and rolling out creative internal and external lead-generation strategies.
- Monitoring sales dashboards and KPIs, providing actionable insights to the team and ensuring targets are exceeded.
- Revenue optimisation across all lines—memberships, product sales, and secondary spend to boost profitability.
- Creating and delivering monthly sales presentations to the wider management team.
- Building local business partnerships and developing #WeMoveBusinesses opportunities.
- Leading by example in high-visibility areas like reception and the gym floor.
- Engaging in national initiatives, such as #WorkoutWednesday and #WeCommunicate.
- Providing honest, constructive feedback to team members while supporting development and performance.
- Assisting the General Manager with operational tasks, including health & safety, facilities management, maintenance, recruitment, and presentation standards.

About You – The Ideal Candidate
- Passionate about health, fitness, and wellness Experience or deep personal connection to the industry.
- Proven leader with the ability to inspire, mentor, and coach a team of diverse members.
- Strong sales and retention focus, with a results-driven mindset and track record of achieving targets.
- Genuine, adaptable communication—ability to connect with all member types, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Positive, solution-focused, and resilient under pressure—composed in high-stakes environments.
- Ambitious, proactive, and eager to grow within leadership and business development.
- Flexible availability – willing to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays to meet business demands.
