The Role
The Sales Application Specialist is responsible for proactively managing customer follow-ups relating to cable assembly samples, free-of-charge product requests, quotations, price support requests, and exhibition leads. This role plays a critical part in converting interest into revenue by ensuring timely follow-up, maintaining strong customer communication, and driving opportunities through the sales pipeline.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Sample Follow-Up
- Track and monitor all cable assembly samples built and sent to customers.
- Follow up with customers to obtain feedback on sample performance, suitability, and next steps.
- Identify opportunities to convert approved samples into production orders.
- Maintain accurate records of sample status and customer responses for FOC samples in strategic markets.

Quotation & Price Support Follow-Up
- Follow up on price support requests and special pricing quotations.
- Work closely with the sales and technical teams to address objections and accelerate order closure.
- Update CRM with quotation status and forecast updates.

CRM & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records for all customer interactions.
- Provide weekly updates on sample conversions, and quotation status in conjunction with the Business Development team.
- Track conversion rates from sample → quotation → order.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Sample-to-order conversion rate
- Quotation-to-order conversion rate
- CRM data accuracy
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in internal sales, sales support, business development, or customer service preferred.
- Strong telephone communication skills and confidence in proactive outbound calling.
- Experience following up quotations or sales leads.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- CRM system experience preferred.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain professional customer relationships.
- Technical product experience (manufacturing, cable assemblies, electronics, or similar) advantageous.
- Proficient in Office 365 products, with strong data analysis capability.
