Sales Assistant (Oxford)
About the Role
Application Deadline: 20 July 2026 Department: Retail Location: Oxford Compensation: £13.45 / hour
Diversity matters We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.
We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!
Who We Are
You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to Lush—this great-smelling, partially employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than we take, demonstrating that capitalism can be a force for good.
The Living Wage Foundation’s statement 'a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay' is one we’re proud to commit to in the UK. As an Accredited Living Wage Employer, we prioritise our people, stand against cruel practices like animal testing, promote sustainability, and show that ethics matter—whether it’s inside Lush products or the values of our team.
The Role
In this dynamic position, you’ll be the vibrant face of the store, turning first impressions into long-lasting customer relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming customers with warmth and energy
- Offering personalised recommendations and product demonstrations
- Enhancing in-store experiences through engaging events and tailored sampling
- Maintaining visually appealing displays and stock organisation
- Aligning with seasonal trends and promotional goals
- Collaborating with your team to exceed sales targets
Supported by competitive pay (based on the Living Wage), flexible shifts, training opportunities, and a potential bonus structure, this role is perfect for someone eager to grow while making a difference in the activities of a thriving retail community.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
