Sales Assistant / Driver (Part-Time) – Middlesbrough
Location: Middlesbrough Hours: 20 hours per week Duration: 3-month temporary contract Pay: £12.71 per hour + excellent benefits package
About the Role
At Crown Paints, our Sales Assistants are the heartbeat of the store—helping customers bring projects to life, building relationships with local trades, and creating exceptional customer experiences.
Are you our new Sales Assistant / Driver?
Responsibilities
- Delivering brilliant customer service both in store and over the phone
- Mixing and tinting paint to meet customer requirements
- Driving the store van to deliver stock locally
- Processing sales and handling point-of-sale (POS) transactions
- Supporting stock control, deliveries, and maintaining store standards
- Building relationships with customers, including opening new trade accounts

A key part of your role will be identifying potential new customers, establishing positive relationships, and opening customer accounts regularly.

What We Looking For
- A friendly, confident approach with customers
- Strong communication skills
- Preferred: Retail or sales experience (helpful but not essential)
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
- A full driving licence (essential)
Physical & Communication Requirements: This is a hands-on role involving:
- Manual handling (lifting up to 5-10kg)
- Standing for extended periods
- Operating store equipment
