Sales Assistant – Host (16hrs/week)

Pay:

  • Ages 16-17: £8.00 per hour
  • Ages 18+: £12.71 per hour

About the Role

Your local store is looking for a Sales Assistant – Host to work 16 hours per week, helping create positive customer experiences that make every visit special.

Our Sales Assistants are the heart of our stores, committed to delivering exceptional service—from warm greetings right through to the final goodbye. As a Host, you’ll be:

  • The first friendly face customers see
  • Assisting them in finding their ideal products
  • Providing confident recommendations, including online exclusives
  • Supporting Click & Collect and Home Delivery processes
  • Ensuring the shop is welcoming, tidy, and well-stocked

You’ll combine retail expertise with a passion for home products, helping customers discover items they might not have considered.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Sales

  • Create joyful, memorable experiences by anticipating customer needs.
  • Deliver exceptional service with a focus on CSAT (Customer Satisfaction).
  • Approach customers proactively to offer friendly guidance and up-sell opportunities.
  • Use inventory systems to check stock and organise deliveries efficiently.

Shop Operations

  • Provide efficient checkout experiences, ensuring safe packing of fragile items.
  • Navigate the shop floor, helping customers find products while sparking exciting recommendations.
  • Assist with stock handling, deliveries, and store presentation to maintain a polished appearance.
  • Replenish stock after busy periods, ensuring displays remain inviting and well-organised.

Cross-Functional Training

You’ll receive training in all areas of customer-facing retail, including:

  • Tills & Checkout – Friendly, accurate service with careful handling of orders.
  • Shop Floor Assistance – Friendly engagement in every section of the store.
  • Stock Recovery & Delivery Coordination – Managing deliveries, scanning stock, and tidying up.
