Sales Assistant - Host

Sales Assistant – Host (16 hrs/week) | Customer-Obsessed Homeware Store

Pay:

  • 16-17 years old: £8.00 per hour
  • 18+ years old: £12.71 per hour One of your local stores is hiring!

About the Role

Your every interaction with a customer is an opportunity to make their day brighter—and you’ll be right there to deliver those moments of joy, from greeting visitors with a smile to ensuring they leave happy and ready to return.

Core Responsibilities

As a Host, you’ll be the welcoming face of our store—a fun, confident presence who:

  • Greets customers and guides their shopping journey, helping them discover products that inspire them
  • Provides expert recommendations, spotting upselling opportunities and creating memorable experiences
  • Uses our digital tools to:
    • Check stock and arrange Click & Collect or Home Delivery
    • Point customers toward online exclusives
    • Resolve queries efficiently

Our Sales Assistants work collaboratively to ensure every visit feels personal, smooth, and effortless.


Your Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Delivery

  • Be customer-obsessed: Strive to deliver exceptional experiences that leave customers obsessed—focused on CSAT (Customer Satisfaction) scores and high standards.
  • Provide 24/7 support from the moment customers enter the store until they leave.
  • Help customers find the perfect products, offer tailored advice, and use vivid communication to create connections.

Order Processing & Digital Support

  • Manage Click & Collect and Home Delivery orders to meet high demand.
  • Use retail systems to verify stock, confirm deliveries, and ensure a seamless process.

Front-of-Store & Store Presentation

  • Maintain a tidy, inviting store display—fresh stock, perfect displays, and an accessible layout for visitors.
  • After busy periods, recover stock and ensure everything is ready for the next customer.

Multiskilling in Retail

While your primary role is Hosting, you’ll also support:

  • Tills: Friendly, efficient checkout handling with attention to details (e.g., securely packing fragile items).
  • Shop Floor:
    • Help find products efficiently
    • Create "aha moments" by suggesting items shoppers didn’t realise they needed
    • Build loyalty with genuine, passionate service
  • Stock & Delivery:
    • Assist with inbound deliveries, stocking, and replenishing displays
    • Update pricing, clean workspaces, and restore order post-busy periods
