Role Description

- Welcome and assist customers in-store
- Provide product information and recommendations
- Process sales transactions accurately

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Supporting the wider team with merchandising and pricing
- Handling customer inquiries
- Resolving basic issues
- Ensuring that all customers receive professional and courteous service
The Sales Assistant is expected to:
- Follow company procedures
- Work safely around materials
- Contribute to a positive team environment
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service abilities to engage professionally with a diverse customer base.
- Clear and effective communication skills, including confident face-to-face interaction and basic written communication.
- Sales skills and a customer-focused mindset to identify needs, recommend suitable products, and support closing sales.
- Basic numeracy and accuracy for handling cash, card payments, and simple sales documentation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle products such as roofing materials and power tools, with appropriate training.
- Previous roofing/building supplies experience is an advantage but not required.
- Willingness to learn product ranges and follow health and safety guidelines; reliable attendance and punctuality.
