Sales Assistant w/Driving
Sales Assistant – Architectural Coatings Division
Location: Hove, Johnstone’s Decorating Centre Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our Architectural Coatings team as a permanent member. Ideal candidates thrive in customer service environments and enjoy continuous learning, though previous experience is not essential—our in-store training will support your development.

A Day in the Life
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Serving customers trade and retail, delivering friendly, professional service at the counter and counters
- Completing brand-training to confidently recommend products aligned with customer needs
- Maintaining store standards through constant presentation and cleanliness checks
- Managing stock and deliveries, ensuring shelves are stocked and procedures are followed
Key Skills & Requirements

Prior experience in customer-facing roles (desirable but not mandatory)

Strong communication skills with a proactive, customer-focused attitude

Proficiency with basic IT systems (training provided, but familiarity helps)

Flexibility around schedule and tasks (e.g. handling front-end sales, stock, or customer enquiries) (Notice: The team adheres to avoiding late evenings on weekdays; schedule aligns with trading hours.)

Driving licence is essential—this role requires occasional store visits/enquiries
