About the Role

As a Sales Coordinator, you will form part of the Qualifying Team function and will be the first contact with a customer, explaining the features of Howden and the benefits of the advised sales process to generate and refer a lead for the Sales Consultants. The key scope of the role is to make high-volume outbound calls on real-time and legacy campaigns to meet expected call and quality targets.

You’re the company’s first point of contact when leads arrive from our comparison site. You’ll support high-volume customers via phone and voice, converting call efforts and leads with high tips and scope.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact on call campaigns to bolster a customer’s interest and generate qualified leads for the Sales Consultants
  • Ensure all leads generated are correctly qualified as per Howden’s Sales Coordinator script
  • Clearly and concisely promote the features and benefits of Howden, our products, and the advised sales process, while taking advantage of cross-sell opportunities
  • Achieve and maintain targets for productivity, quality, and compliance
  • Proactively contribute to maintaining FCA legislation and regulatory guidelines while working collaboratively in a demanding role
  • Ensure team leads and manager goals are delivered and exceeded, demonstrating suitable enthusiasm, openness, and tenacity
  • Engage with colleagues to equip them with knowledge, efficient training, and support to achieve outstanding calls, service, and independent work results
  • Perform administrative tasks in line with Howden’s compliance framework
  • Maintain awareness and activity towards INTEGRITY, UNITY, INNOVATION, and PASSION (I.U.I.P.)

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in customer-facing roles with external contacts
  • Highly dedicated to being reliable, honest, and passionate about serving our customers
  • Ability to contribute to a positive, working environment with strong team spirit and work ethic
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience
  • Strong ability to follow scripts and deliver a consistent service experience
  • Proactive, driven individual, enthusiastic to grow and develop
  • Capable of meeting targets and goals, with self-motivation
  • Highly resilient and able to handle challenging situations effectively

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • 6-months minimum experience in customer service or sales roles
  • Experience working in an outbound call centre environment, and/or within financial services or regulated sectors
  • Administration qualification (e.g., NVQ)
