Sales Coach

About the Role

Robert Walters are partnering with Timberwise, a family-run specialist construction business operating throughout England, Wales, and Scotland for over 50 years. The company delivers property preservation services, from basement waterproofing to timber treatments, and values honesty, integrity, reliability, and teamwork.

Timberwise adopts a hybrid model where surveyors specify client jobs, provide reports/sales proposals, and coordinate contracting work. The role is dedicated to improving sales and training within this framework.


Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Staff Coaching & Mentoring

    • Provide 1-1 mentoring for surveyors
    • Conduct daily coaching of underperforming sales staff
    • Ensure compliance with sales processes
    • Train in time management, organisational efficiency, and productive sales habits
  • Business Development & Customer Engagement Coaching

    • Develop relationship management skills among sales teams
    • Train in body language, empathy, rapport-building, and positive customer interactions

  • Comprehensive Training & Sales Process Improvements

    • Coach branch managers in managing sales processes
    • Design and deliver cross-departmental training (sales, management, customer service, technicians)
    • Advise on sales pipeline management, product offerings, and marketing strategy
    • Document consultative sales process, objections, and customer resolutions
    • Conduct customer insights interviews to refine Timberwise’s sales processes
  • New Staff Integration & Training

    • Mentor rookie and new-measure sales teams in "Timberwise Way" methodology

Requirements

Must Display

✔ Track record in improving sales performance for underperforming teams ✔ Ability to inspire, motivate, and build rapport with employees ✔ Expertise in behavioural change management and accountability holding ✔ Proven sales training and coaching experience ✔ Flexibility to facilitate varied team dynamics and strengths

Personal Sales & Business Impact Track Record

✔ Demonstrated success in sales performance and business development initiatives

Experience in

  • Sales management
  • Construction commercial/branding knowledge (preferred)
