Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Sales Consultant role based in Linwood Honda Mg. The Sales Consultant is responsible for welcoming customers to the showroom, identifying their needs, and guiding them through the process of choosing and purchasing a suitable vehicle. Daily tasks include:

  • Explaining vehicle features and finance options
  • Arranging test drives
  • Preparing accurate quotations
  • Managing sales documentation to meet regulatory and company standards

The role also involves:

  • Following up on customer enquiries
  • Maintaining relationships to encourage repeat business
  • Working with colleagues to achieve sales targets and deliver a positive customer experience

Sales Consultants are expected to uphold Arnold Clark’s customer service values and contribute to a professional, well-presented showroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate clearly with a wide range of customers.
  • Sales and negotiation skills, including experience working to targets, handling objections, and closing deals ethically and effectively.
  • Organizational and administrative skills to manage appointments, documentation, and follow-up activities accurately and on time.
  • Basic digital and IT skills, including using CRM systems, email, and office software to manage customer information and sales records.
  • Knowledge of or interest in the automotive sector, vehicle features, and finance products, with a willingness to learn and keep up to date.
  • Ability to work on-site in Maybole, including flexibility to work weekends and peak trading hours as required.
  • Previous experience in retail, customer-facing roles, or sales is beneficial but not essential; full training can be provided.
  • Full UK driving licence is highly advantageous, as is the ability to demonstrate a professional, trustworthy approach aligned with Arnold Clark’s values.
