Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Sales Coordinator to join our team on a fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure to sales within the construction materials industry while playing a key role in our customer-facing operations. Working closely with our distribution team, you will manage customer orders, handle inbound enquiries, and provide support over the phone to ensure outstanding customer service. You will also provide essential administrative support to our Territory Sales Managers, helping to drive efficient communication and smooth day-to-day operations. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your commercial and sales support skills within a leading construction materials business.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively follow up new leads and referrals generated from the Territory Sales Manager
- Lead customer conversations which enable discussions into future opportunities
- Develop clear weekly and monthly sales activity plans of your own that support the sales pipeline
- Respond to customer enquiries (directly and those passed to you) and engage customers to understand their needs and recommend the best solution
- Develop accurate pricing and quotations for customers and capture within Breedon’s systems
- Proactively maintain product knowledge expertise ensuring you understand Breedon’s products and can recommend the best solutions to customers actively upselling and cross selling where appropriate
- Actively manage customer enquiries to conclusion, driving conversion, understanding the reasons behind lost quotes, and capturing this in the system
- Manage customer credit limits, proactively anticipating and communicating to enable smooth flow
- Adopt the Breedon way of working and ensure process adherence and compliance to SOP’s
- Actively participate in delivery of Customer & Commercial Excellence initiatives ensuring that new ways of working are adopted and embedded within the business
- Regularly review KPIs to ensure achievement of plan objectives and targets (budgets).
- Provide updates on performance
- Provide input which informs local Marketing initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- Experience operating in a proactive sales, lead generation and account management role
- A self-starter who is commercially focused and responds appropriately on your own to improve outcomes and process’s and assumes responsibility for your own performance
- You relish the opportunity to build relationships with new customers and give Breedon the best chance of supporting our customers
- You’ll enjoy managing competing priorities and a dynamic work environment
- You have a natural curiosity in others and like to continuously learn about our products and services
- Highly effective communicator and facilitator, able to collaborate across teams and levels
- Ability to develop strong and lasting customer relationships & value-added solutions
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) Word and experience with CRM software
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail and a right first time attitude.
