Role Description

The Sales Designer / Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Schmidt Warrington-Altrincham in Altrincham. This position combines interior design expertise with consultative sales responsibilities, guiding clients through the entire journey from initial showroom visit to completed installation. The Sales Designer / Manager will work closely with the showroom team to achieve sales targets, maintain an inspiring showroom environment, and contribute to local marketing and promotional activities.

Qualifications

  • Communication and Customer Service Skills: To build trust, handle inquiries, and guide clients confidently through the design and sales process.
  • Interior Design and Kitchen & Bath Design Skills: To create functional, aesthetic, and technically accurate layouts aligned with client needs and budgets.
  • Sales Skills: Including consultative selling, negotiation, and closing, to convert leads into successful projects and support showroom revenue goals.
  • Beneficial Qualifications:
    • Experience in residential interiors or kitchen showrooms
    • Proficiency with design or CAD software
    • A track record in client-facing roles
  • Additional Desirable Attributes:
    • Attention to detail
    • Organizational and time-management skills
    • Numerical accuracy for quotations
    • The ability to collaborate effectively with installation and supplier partners
  • Advantageous Background:
    • A relevant qualification or training in interior design, architecture, or a related field
    • Prior experience in a retail or showroom environment
