About Autosmart
Autosmart are a market leader with a successful track record of profitable growth for over last 45 years. Focused on building a successful franchise business and developing talented people into future sales leaders. We're now looking for a driven and enthusiastic Sales Development Manager to join our team in the Midlands region.
What You'll Do
This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years' experience in sales, customer-facing, business development or commercial roles who is ready to develop their career. You'll receive structured training, practical coaching and ongoing support as you learn how to develop franchise businesses, build commercial relationships and drive sales growth.
This is a field-based role where no two days are the same. You'll spend your time alongside our franchisees in their mobile showrooms, helping them grow their businesses, develop their sales skills and achieve their goals.
Please note: This role covers the Midlands region and includes regular travel, with approximately one night away from home each week.
"I love that no two days are the same. My role is varied, rewarding and gives me lots of autonomy. I enjoy being out day to day with our franchisees, providing coaching and support, and couldn't go back to working in an office. It's much more fun being out and about every day."

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
