I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Sales Development Representative role is a key position focused on generating qualified sales appointments and supporting pipeline growth across our Data and AI portfolio. This includes identifying opportunities for both Professional Services and Managed Services, helping customers address specific business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes through the effective use of data.
At Simpson Associates, our approach is consultative and outcome-led. Rather than promoting standalone products, the Sales Development Representative will engage prospects around their data challenges, business priorities, and transformation goals - developing meaningful conversations that translate into high-quality opportunities for the sales team.
This role is suited to someone with early sales experience who is looking to build a career in a more consultative, solution-focused environment. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate experience in generating opportunities and progressing conversations, ideally within a technology or data-related context.
This could include someone who has experience selling defined products or services and is now ready to take the next step into a more complex, outcome-led sales approach. Equally, it may suit someone who already has experience in a similar role within Professional Services and/or Managed Services.
Working closely with marketing and sales, the Sales Development Representative will use LinkedIn, HubSpot, campaigns and events to identify and engage prospects, develop conversations, and convert interest into well-qualified opportunities.
