About the Role

Our New Business team at Plaid—and this critical role—is dedicated to expanding the impact of Plaid’s technology and democratizing access to financial data for an ever-widening range of companies.

In this position, you will:

  • Prospect, evaluate, and nurture leads for Plaid’s platform, spanning both FinTech and traditionally non-tech sectors.
  • Shape the future of Platid’s GTM strategies by identifying high-potential verticals, partnering with Account Executives (AEs) to build pipeline, and setting actionable opportunities.
  • Bridge immersively with stakeholders to evangelize Plaid’s value and align on needs/opportunities.
  • Play a role in launching effective growth campaigns and refining processes to foster rapid revenue growth.

You’ll wear multiple hats—hunting prospects, serving as a technical evangelist, troubleshooting potential roadblocks, and helping clients identify the right use cases for Plaid.

This role holds high potential for someone comfortable taking ownership, building ideas from scratch, and thriving in environments that evolve quickly.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Pipeline Building: Identify prospective clients via tech/outsourced research and conduct high-value sales conversations.
  • Qualification & Handoff: Qualify leads and prepare opportunities for Account Executives, ensuring alignment with Plaid’s pipeline methodology.
  • Outbound Engagement: Launch tailored outbound programs—e.g., outreach via email/Social (LinkedIn), and follow-ups to convert interest into deals.
  • **Onboarding Support: Assist new customers as needed to understand product fit and navigate implementation.
  • Stakeholder Whisperer: Be the conduit between engineering, product, and technical leads to discern pain points and find resolutions.
  • Process Improvement: help to build, enhance, and institutionalize a repeatable growth playbook for scaling prospecting activity.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Marketing to optimize prospects via ABM campaigns, tailor messaging, and adapt strategies for ‘best-fit’ industries.

Ideal Qualifications

In summary, Plaid seeks a self-starter showcasing a blend of SaaS/tech sales expertise, relentless hustle and—especially—equitable, inclusive motivation.

Requirements

✔ 1-3 years’ experience in outbound sales, pipeline development, or sales ops (preferably at a SaaS/tech company) ✔ Proven success in conducting high-impact conversations with executives and technical buyers ✔ Interpersonal savvy + CRM mastery: Former familiarity with Salesforce (or another CRM) ✔ Fast learner: Receptivity to deeper technical material around Open Banking APIs, ecosystems dynamics (APIs, compliance), and product-led growth ✔ Outbound warrior: Ability to diversify channels and demonstrate high pipeline productivity ✔ Persistent author: Preference given for record of indirect deals, outreach, or mission-driven sales (非步道式in sales) ✔ Special requirements for Building Thought Leadership:

  • A track-record of insights generation (e.g. digging finance-specific verticals to uncover overlooked use-cases) or articulating cross-departmental alignment

Nice-to-Haves

🔹 Experience in Financial Services SaaS (Hyperion, FinTech, or adjacent fields) with customer facing for API/tech products 🔹 Exercise of link building, technical selling, or content marketing stratagems to dig into a verticals
