What Is This Job Really?

This is your first step into B2B tech sales, where you’ll build foundational skills every successful salesperson needs.

As a Business Development Executive (Outbound Telesales), you’ll:

  • Make 80–100+ outbound calls daily to UK business decision-makers
  • Introduce Focus Group’s solutions across:
    • Telecoms, IT, Cyber Security, and Mobile
  • Qualify prospects and secure in-person or virtual meetings for senior BDMs
  • Track conversations and opportunities in CRM systems
  • Work toward daily/weekly call targets in a high-pressure but rewarding environment
  • Develop resilience, confidence, and long-term career skills—always progressing

Your Earning Potential

(Promotion timeline: 12–24 months as BDE)

📊 Year 1 (BDE):

  • Base salary: £25k
  • Realistic first-year OTE: £30–35k
  • Top performers: £38–42k open-ended earning potential

🚀 Year 2+ (Promoted BDM):

  • First-year BDM OTE: £50–60k
  • Experienced BDM average: £80–100k
  • Top performers: £120k+

Career Path

Successful twelve-to-twenty-four-month progression examples:

  • BDE → BDM
  • BDE → Customer Engagement
  • BDE → BDE Team Lead
