I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
This is a phone-first role. Most of your day will be spent making outbound calls to prospective firms, opening conversations, understanding their needs and qualifying genuine opportunities. It suits someone who enjoys picking up the phone, isn't knocked back by a "no" and gets a real buzz from turning a cold contact into a booked meeting.
We're looking for someone with a positive, resilient attitude, sharp attention to detail and the drive to have meaningful conversations day in, day out. As a small but fast-growing business, we need someone who learns quickly, masters consultative selling techniques and gives every prospect a first-class experience over the phone. You'll thrive here if you're well organised, target-focused and able to engage people with confidence and curiosity. Consistently high activity levels and strong time management are what turn effort into results in this role.

- Self-motivated, target-driven and results-oriented
- Well organised, with the ability to prioritise, manage your own time and sustain high activity levels
