Sales Development Representative - International Markets

Actian is the Data and AI division of HCLSoftware, supporting organisations to connect, manage, govern, and analyse their data confidently.

We are currently expanding our portfolio and mission—introducing AI-driven solutions, databases, business intelligence, and analysis tools that empower enterprises. This is your chance to shape the future of enterprise data and AI adoption at this crucial moment.

This role focuses on an international territory, including France, Spain, Italy, and the Middle East, with additional support for select APAC accounts and campaigns. Here, you’ll contribute directly to Actian’s growth and success:


About the Role

We’re searching for an ambitious Sales Development Representative who thrives in outbound prospecting, developing high-potential accounts and generating pipeline. You’ll:

  • Engage with decision-makers across diverse geographies.
  • Drives account scratching, qualification, and qualification meeting bookings.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to accelerate pipeline growth.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, embraces autonomy, and performs units consistently within a structured remote working framework. You’ll receive guided coaching, enablement, and full support for your progression alongside accountability for your pipeline.


Responsibilities

Prospecting & Pipeline Development

  • Research target accounts, decision-makers and market signals in the following territories: France, Spain, Italy, and the Middle East. Liaise with key leads and extended networks.
  • Develop territory and account-based prospecting plans in collaboration with Account Executives, coordinating campaigns across multiple markets.

Outbound Engagement & Qualification

  • Execute multi-touch cold calling, email, and LinkedIn outreach campaigns.
  • Identify stakeholders (direct and influencing) and use account-based emails and messaging tailored to role, industry, pains and market trends.
  • Deliver qualification conversations revealing business challenges, priorities, timing and solution interest.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to nurture qualified opportunities, passing them over to AE’s.
  • Apply structured contact and sequence cadences and follow-up schedules effectively.

Tool & AI-Driven Prospecting

  • Use CRM and AI-assisted prospecting tools to support research and outreach.
  • Leverage tech like Salesforce, Outreach, Gong, Sales Navigator, Cognism while ensuring Outreach remains authentic and relevant.

Pipeline & Performance Tracking

  • Update data and prospect information accurately in Actian’s sales systems (real-time).
  • Monitor performance, adapt strategies, and raise blockers or escalation points proactively.
  • Refine prospects through pipeline stage transitions and maintain awards information.

Professional Growth

  • Deepen your understanding of Actian’s solution stack, enterprise segments, competitors and target industry markets.
  • Participate in regular coaching, training and sales enablement sessions* to expand knowledge.

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in Sales Development, Business Development (BDR) or related outbound sales role.
  • Demonstrable proven track record in cold calling, account research, and new business prospecting.
  • Experience engaging multi-account sales environments and prioritizing multiple stakeholders.
  • Natural ability to achieve quotas and daily activity targets in a remote, self-directed workflow.

CRM & Technology

  • Hands-on experience using CRM, Sales Engagement and outreach tools (e.g. Salesforce + Outreach, Gong, Demandbase, Cognism).
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or prospecting tech a massive benefit.

Soft Skills & Work Habits

  • Strong written and verbal communication with inherent customer empathy.
  • Confident and coached by feedback without resistance.
  • Proactively self-managing with tight time organisation skills - multitasking across markets whilst performing extremity.
  • Disciplined, resilient and capable of managing portfolio challenges.
  • Motivated by represented learning, developing, and greater responsibility.
