Sales Development Representative | Startups & AI
Company: PMF Partner Location: Remote (UK) Employment type: Full-time Salary: £30,000 per year + uncapped performance-related commission
About PMF Partner
PMF Partner works directly with startup founders to help them:
- Test markets
- Generate early commercial traction
- Build repeatable sales processes
We focus on early-stage technology companies with strong products but who lack clarity on: ✔ How to position their offering ✔ Who to sell to ✔ How to generate meaningful conversations
Unlike traditional roles selling a single product in one market, this role involves supporting 2–3 startup clients at a time, each with unique products, target markets and commercial challenges. The variability drives engagement and learning, offering exposure to diverse startup growth strategies.
The Role
We need a confident, commercially curious Sales Development Representative to execute outbound calling campaigns on behalf of our startup clients.
Core Responsibilities
Your primary job is to:
- Speak with prospective customers
- Qualify interest
- Book high-quality meetings for supported founders and sales teams
PMF Partner provides:
- Target markets
- Prospect lists
- Positioning materials
- Campaign strategies
- Call scripts
Your focus? Quality over quantity—we prioritise relevant conversations, well-qualified meetings, and commercial insights over raw call counts.
You’ll analyse:
- Why prospects hesitate or engage
- Current competitive offerings
- Repeated objections This data helps refine client strategies in positioning, targeting, and go-to-market approaches.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will:
- Conduct high-volume, high-quality cold calling for 2–3 startup clients
- Engage founders, directors, and senior decision-makers across industries
- Understand each client’s product deeply, explaining value clearly during calls
- Follow structured scripts while adapting dynamically in conversations
- Identify and qualify genuine business problems
- Book relevant discovery meetings for founders and sales teams
- Research target companies and decision-makers before/during outreach
- Document detailed call notes, outcomes, and prospect feedback post-conversation
- Maintain organised CRM records and up-to-date sales reporting data
- Follow up effectively to convert interest into meetings
- Share recurring objections and market trends with the team
- Manage outreach across clients without compromising quality
- Suggest improvements for scripts, targeting, and campaign performance

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
