Morningstar’s Business Development & Sales Group

Morningstar’s Business Development & Sales group is responsible for helping financial professionals build their businesses and provide better outcomes for investors.

The Role

In the Sales Development Representative (SDR) role, you will represent Morningstar’s software, tools, and services to the appropriate individual, advisor, or institutional clients. Our SDRs are the first point of contact for the vast majority of our new business opportunities.

A key focus of this role is proactive outbound prospecting. You will run a high volume of targeted outbound outreach, identifying and engaging decision-makers at companies that fit our ideal customer profile. Through structured outbound activity, you will generate new business opportunities for our Regional Sales teams and play a critical role in building pipeline from the ground up.

As an SDR, you will embrace a fast-paced, outbound-driven environment that requires persistence, curiosity, and strong communication skills. You will be expected to confidently initiate conversations, create interest, and open doors with prospects who may not yet be familiar with Morningstar.

This is a highly visible role that makes a direct and significant impact on our business, working closely with product development, marketing, and other sales teams for the solutions you represent.

The SDR role provides boundless opportunities for both personal and professional growth. The SDR team serves as a launchpad to accelerate your sales career at Morningstar. For those driven to exceed expectations, career paths at Morningstar are endless.

This position is based in our London office.

Job Responsibilities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
