Sales Director

Salary: £105,000 + Car or Car Allowance + Package

Location: UK

Sector: Industrial Automation & Control

Our client is seeking a commercially driven Sales Director to lead growth across the UK industrial automation market. This is a senior leadership role for an ambitious sales professional with a strong track record in automation, controls, robotics, or related manufacturing technologies.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and executing the UK sales strategy, building strong customer relationships, and driving revenue growth across key industrial sectors. Working closely with technical, operations, and leadership teams, you will identify new opportunities, manage strategic accounts, and position the business as a trusted automation partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the UK sales strategy to deliver growth and profitability.
  • Develop new business across industrial automation, controls, electronic components, and systems integration markets.
  • Manage and grow relationships with key accounts, OEMs, distribution, integrators, and end users.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team.
  • Work with internal engineering and project teams to shape tailored customer solutions.
  • Prepare accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and strategic sales plans.
  • Represent the business at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.

About You

  • Proven experience in senior sales leadership within industrial automation, engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical sector.
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, controls, robotics, or factory solutions.
  • Demonstrable success in winning new business and growing key accounts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to develop strategy and deliver results.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • UK-based and willing to travel as required.
