Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data. Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Enterprise Account Executive (Public Sector) – dbt Labs: London, UK
About the Role
Fivetran and dbt Labs have joined forces to create a powerful data infrastructure solution that enables seamless data movement (via Fivetran), transformation (via dbt Cloud) and reliability—helping organizations become truly data-driven. This is an exciting time to join us as we merge our teams, resources, and technology to support our customers with unparalleled success.
In this critical Enterprise Account Executive role, you will be responsible for growing and managing dbt Labs’ presence within the UK’s public sector, identifying revenue opportunities and expanding our customer base. This role requires a proactive, relationship-driven sales specialist with a hunter’s mindset, deep public sector expertise, and the resilience to manage long, collaborative sales cycles at all levels of an organization—from data teams to leadership.
This opportunity will be based in London, UK.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline Development & Ownership: Build, manage, and close your own pipeline targeting UK public sector organizations that would benefit from dbt Cloud.
- Account Growth: Strengthen and expand dbt Cloud’s impact within existing public sector accounts by identifying upsell, cross-sell, and enterprise opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with technology partners, integrator networks, and ecosystem providers to optimise our market traction and reach in the public sector.
- Sales Process Leadership: Contribute towards developing best-in-class internal sales tools, frameworks, and processes to drive long-term commercial growth.
- Partnership with Product: Work closely with the dbt Labs product team to refine the enterprise roadmap, ensuring our solutions align with high-value public sector use cases.
Requirements
You will succeed in this role if you can demonstrate:
- Competitive Competence: Proven track record of building and closing developed, noisy, and mid-size public sector pipelines.
- Sales Veteranship: 4+ years of commercial experience in technical sales with a history of consistently exceeding annual revenue targets—ideally within analytics, ETL, BI, or SaaS-focused environments.
- Technical Acumen: Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, helping us adopt a consultative sales approach.
- Analytics Experience: Experience with SQL, preference/willingness to learn Transformed ETL (dbt), and familiarity with public sector regulatory or commercial challenges.
- Sales Toughness: Aesthetic ability to navigate meaningful uncertainty, drive rate-sensitive deals, and manage cross-functional selling processes in long sales cycles that involve input from multiple decision-makers.
- Entrepreneurial Diligence: Self-directed and commercially focused in an agile organisation where ambiguity is the norm.
- Inclusion Advocate: A passion for fostering an inclusive, accessible workplace culture among our diverse global teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
