Sales Director (BD and AM) - Product & Digital Engineering, UK, Germany or Benelux based - Remote/Hybrid

Fancy taking on the giants of IT services and actually winning?

Our client is a genuinely fast growing digital engineering consultancy that has built a serious business by competing head on with much larger, more established IT services players and winning meaningful work off them. They are still young, still hungry, and expanding their presence across the UK, Ireland and Europe, with a particular focus on UK, Benelux, the Nordics and Germany.

This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the regional MD, so it suits someone who wants ownership and visibility rather than a big team to manage. You will inherit a small base of three to four existing accounts, but the majority of your value and reward will come from what you build, both growing that existing base and bringing in genuinely new logos.

As Sales Director (BD and AM) - Product & Digital Engineering, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning a mixed book, growing three to four existing strategic accounts while building net new business across your territory
  • Bringing your own relationships to the table, working a three pronged approach across named strategic accounts, a second tier of accounts supported by an inside sales team, and broader addressable market campaigns run by the wider team
  • Managing the complete sales cycle end to end, from prospecting and qualification through to proposal, negotiation and close
  • Coordinating informally with other business development managers across the region, without formal people management responsibility
  • Building trusted advisor relationships at CIO, CDO and senior functional level
  • Representing the business at industry forums, conferences and trade events

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

To be considered for the Sales Director (BD and AM) - Product & Digital Engineering role you will need:

  • A strong track record selling software solutions or digital engineering services, ideally into enterprise accounts across your target region
  • Genuine relationships already established at CIO, CDO or senior functional level in Benelux, the Nordics, Germany or the wider UK and Ireland market
  • Comfort growing an existing account base by roughly 20 percent year on year, alongside building two to three new logos as a starting benchmark
  • The ability to sell consultatively, translating technical capability into commercial value
  • Genuine comfort operating with ambiguity and fewer of the guardrails you would find in a Tier 1 consultancy

What you will actually be selling

This is a services and solutions sale, not a licensed product sale. You will be selling scoped, consultative engagements built around a client's specific transformation challenge, working closely with delivery and practice teams to shape each proposal. The core solution areas you will need to be credible across include:

  • Product and digital engineering, including custom software development, application modernisation and legacy transformation
  • Cloud engineering and migration, built on strong Microsoft and AWS partnerships
  • Data, analytics and AI, including generative AI and agentic AI use cases, an area our client has invested heavily in and is actively differentiating on
  • Platform engineering and enterprise application integration
  • Cybersecurity and infrastructure management, as a secondary but genuine cross sell opportunity
  • Proprietary industry accelerators in sectors such as banking, insurance and gaming, which shorten sales cycles when they fit a prospect's need

Vertical focus leans towards manufacturing, industrial and energy, alongside banking, financial services and insurance, with an emerging push into EdTech. You do not need deep expertise in every one of these areas on day one, but you do need to be genuinely comfortable learning technical solution detail quickly and translating it into a commercial story a CIO or CDO will engage with.

The commercial reality

A competitive base salary, alongside a strong uncapped commission structure with genuine accelerators built in, including kickers for new logos, fast account growth and higher margin propositions including IP led and GenAI engagements, which carry an enhanced multiplier. On a realistic run rate this is a package that rewards genuine performance rather than capping upside.

You will be properly supported by a dedicated inside sales team who help generate meetings and build pipeline on your behalf, and any qualified opportunity gets full pre-sales backing.

If you have the right experience for the Sales Director (BD and AM) - Product & Digital Engineering please apply now with your latest CV. Discussions will be treated confidentially.
