Sales Director

£100,000 + Bonus & Car Package | Scotland (Confidential)

You run the team. You don’t set the strategy. Here, you’d do both.

A proven Scottish business with the potential to double in scale is seeking its next leader—the one who will make it happen.

Why this role exists now

After two decades of steady, profitable growth, this business is deliberately leveling up. Its capability has expanded, freeing owner-operated senior team members from day-to-day sales leadership to pursue greater opportunities within the group.

For the first time, the doors are open for an external Sales Leadership figure to take ownership of the entire sales function. The leadership believes the business can double in size—this is the role that will achieve it.

What you’d actually own

As the Head of Sales (Sales Director/National Sales Director) reporting directly to the owners, you’d have full responsibility for:

  • Strategy & Direction

    • Deciding sector focus, account strategy, and where growth comes from.
    • Pricing & deal structuring—tailoring offers to win.
    • Balancing two distinct sales motions:
      • Long-cycle tenders (public-sector frameworks, won on rigour, patience, and process expertise).
      • Short-cycle relationship selling (private-sector clients, high-trust consultative engagement).
  • Team & Culture

    • Hiring, training, and leading the sales function, ensuring scalability.
    • Retaining high-performing capable talent while attracting new talent.
    • Setting team culture—not just execution, but strategic influence.
  • Business Impact

    • Defining the path to doubling revenue, with full autonomy from6 internal governance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why the business wins

This company excels in nuanced markets that competitors lack the credibility to penetrate:

  • Unique regulatory advantages Full chain-of-custody capability and in-house infrastructure, positioning the business as the most trusted provider in public and security-sensitive sectors.
  • Proven customer loyalty High retention, particularly in public-sector contracts (no churn machine—just real, enduring business).
  • Ownership & stability Privatley-owned with strong retention of core stakeholders and brand promise.

The market: Why this is a once-in-a-career opportunity

  • Scotland’s under-penetrated IT landscape—this sector is ready for expansion.
  • A narrowly competitive playing field—even domestically, rivals lack either the regulatory credentials or operational credibility.
  • Demand is rising, but credible competitors are le nettement positioned to capitalise.

Two sales motions to master

As everyone balances playbook sales structures differently, this business allows you to:

▪ Public Sector Strategising Tender-focused, methodical, fastidious. This lets them dominate frameworks where competitors are late or locked out.

▪ Private Sector Relational Building Trust-based, consultative. Relationships at high enterprise clients take time to nurture—curating that reputation remains the fastest multiplier.

Running both effectively from the start showcases adaptability and creates leaving a legacy.

There will be no corporate delays

Direct access to the owner-operators ensures decisions are frictionless, fast, and clear. No layers of bureaucracy.

  • Loyal existing client base (minimising restructuring risks).
  • Established team structure loyal to high standards (never looking to tear anything down).
  • Geographic potency through Scotland’s underexploited sectors.

Who it’s for

✅ An established sales leader—the type who loves leading sales directors with knowledge-teams toward goals, not corporate middle managers: Head of Sales/Nationals Sales Director/Sales Director with a growth track record. ✅ Someone with skin in the game against corporate life—who genuinely craves deep ownership, influence and the freedom to run with responsibility. ✅ Was critical in taking responsibility within existing teams: First callbacks you make to assess needs, to check alignment, to seek out potential, that warmth and attention builds credibility. ✅ A steady hand. You build constructive peace pre-consciousness but never lose sight of the strategy’s endgame.

Who it’s NOT for

❌ Anyone seeking culture cannonisation trending. Whose ideal is a midhigh corporate journey—who want bulk sales than substance. ❌ The “freak show” stamp without a respectful foundation: uphill advancement. In this business, judgement > noise. Where respect resides, influence is rooted. A bold concept, not an ego yelp. winner.

The Offer

🏴 £100,000 basic + performance-linked bonus + market-leading car package.
