Sales Enablement Technology Manager
Role Overview
This is a pivotal moment for business development technology in our industry, and for Bird & Bird. As we continue to grow and evolve our BD function, we are investing in the tools, systems, and enablement capability that will allow both our lawyers and MBD teams to work more effectively and win more business.
The Sales Enablement Technology Manager is a new role that sits at the heart of this ambition. Rather than owning a single platform, you will take a solutions-first view of our entire BD technology ecosystem, identifying where technology can unlock commercial value and ensuring those tools are embedded effectively across the firm.
Role
Working closely with our Senior Digital Marketing Manager, you will be a part of our three-person CRM/BD tech team and work closely with the wider Digital, MBD, and IT functions to ensure our BD technology delivers measurable impact and commercial insight. Two key parts of this role will be:
- Working in close partnership with the Digital team, to connect the dots between BD technology, our broader digital infrastructure, ensuring data flows, systems, and initiatives work together to give us a clearer picture of pipeline, engagement, and return on investment
- Aligning and collaborating with our Client Listening and Intelligence team to add internal commercial insight and data to pursuit plans and our work-winning approach.
You'll be joining our Central Marketing & Business Development (MBD) team who work in partnership with senior stakeholders across the firm to set the strategy and shape the tactics to build our firm's profile. They help to win new work and strengthen and deepen client relationships, using a data-driven and sales-focused approach. The team is mostly based in London and is made up of over 60 specialists in marketing communications, business development, and client service.
As a central team, we lead global activities while working closely with our network of MBD colleagues based across our international offices. Whether it's driving a new content strategy, pitching for cutting-edge work, building our brand, or contributing to the development of our client relationships, we're committed to providing exceptional service to the firm and are known for leading the way when it comes to new technology and solutions. Energetic, creative, and global, we're looking for people who have a passion for MBD and are keen to take a fresh approach.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Enablement
- Define and deliver a sales enablement solution that supports lawyers as direct users, enabling them to identify opportunities, manage relationships, and progress pursuits more effectively.
- Own delivery and adoption of the chosen solution, working with stakeholders across the firm to ensure it is embedded into day-to-day BD activity.
- Build and maintain playbooks for BD, translating best practice into scalable, repeatable frameworks that support both lawyers and MBD professionals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
