Purpose of the Role

The role is to drive sales growth and strengthen Colas Products’ presence in the North West and Midlands region by managing key customer relationships (70%) and developing new business (30%). The Products side of our business supplies materials used in the road infrastructure, highways, and surfacing sector. It involves close collaboration with depot teams and contribution to national sales planning, with potential opportunities for involvement in wider business initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own and grow the sales territory through effective customer management and business development.
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts to maximise profitability and identify new opportunities.
  • Promote the full Colas product range and provide customer training.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence.
  • Complete all required administration accurately and on time.
  • Support sales planning.
  • Comply with company quality and safety standards.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in sales or account management within road construction, highway maintenance, surfacing, or trade/product sales related to these sectors.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexible approach to work.

Package Description

Here at Colas, we offer a great total compensation package, including:

  • A salary of £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
