Sales Engineer
Sales & Proposal Manager (Water Mist Systems) – New Project Enquiries
You will take the lead in managing the sales and proposal process for new water mist project enquiries allocated to you.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing project requirements and preparing accurate cost estimates
- Collaborating with internal teams to deliver comprehensive proposals
- Demonstrating strong technical knowledge of sprinkler/water mist systems
- Exhibiting excellent analytical skills and effective stakeholder communication
What You Will Be Doing
Enquiry & Proposal Management
- Review and respond to allocated enquiries, updating our CRM system
- Develop technical specifications and draft proposals within customer deadlines
- Produce accurate quotations based on:
- Customer specifications
- Construction drawings
- Bills of quantities
- Other project documentation
Collaborative & Technical Roles
- Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and leadership for technical input into quotations
- Analyse risk levels related to financial and technical project elements
- Submit quotations to customers/clients and track progress
- Gather client feedback and prepare win/loss KPIs with lessons learnt

Client Engagement & Sales Growth
- Communicate professionally with customers via email, telephone, and site visits
- Enhance customer satisfaction and identify new sales opportunities
What We Will Need From You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven technical expertise in sprinkler/water mist system design, including:
- Ability to read construction drawings and interpret technical specifications
- Experience in developing technical quotations/bids
- knowledge of:
- Construction programs
- Building regulations
- Industry standards and legislation
Commercial & Relationship Skills
- Creative problem-solving approach
- Strong ability to build and sustain positive customer relationships
- Commercial awareness with demonstrable numerical skills
- Ideally prior experience in a sales/estimating role within the fire protection industry

Operational & Technical Requirements
- Strong organisational skills (meeting deadlines, managing shifting priorities)
- Exceptional attention to detail and efficiency
- Proficient IT skills with MS Office experience
- Bonus: Familiarity with AutoCAD/AutoCAD View
Interpersonal & Presentational Skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a tight-knit team
- Professional, friendly, and outgoing personality
- Ability to present proposals in-person or remotely
- Experience dealing with end users, insurers, and main contractors
