Sales Engineer - Industrial Components, Power Transmission, Engineering Solutions
We're hiring a Sales Engineer to join a global engineering manufacturer based in Coventry. If you have a background in internal technical sales, applications engineering, or technical support, and want to build your career in external technical sales, we'll give you the product training and support you need while you work with OEMs, distributors, and end users across a variety of industrial markets.
Basic Salary
Up to £50,000

Location
You will ideally be based in or near Coventry. You will cover the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions. Travel is required, including overnight stays.

Job Description
Sales Engineer: Industrial Components, Power Transmission, Engineering Solutions: Manufacturing and Industrial Markets
Role
As our Sales Engineer, you'll manage and develop relationships with distributors, OEMs, and end users, helping customers identify the right engineering solutions for their applications. You'll inherit an established customer base while developing new business opportunities across multiple industrial sectors. This is a consultative field sales role where both technical credibility and commercial awareness are essential. You will:

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and application support to customers
- Deliver product presentations and training to distributors
- Visit customers throughout the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM
- Deliver against sales targets and KPIs
- Work closely with product specialists and the wider sales team to develop customer solutions
Person Specification
We're looking for someone with a strong technical engineering background combined with commercial experience who is ready to take the next step into a customer-facing external sales role. You'll ideally have:
- Experience in internal sales, applications engineering, technical support, or technical customer service within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of power transmission, bearings, geared products, industrial components, or related mechanical engineering products
- Experience supporting OEMs, distributors, or end users
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage a sales territory
- Willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions
