Sales Engineer II

Sales Engineer – EU Region

(ZPE Systems & Legrand)

Join our dynamic team as a Sales Engineer responsible for driving global growth in the EU market by delivering technical solutions, collaborating with customers, and supporting pre-sales strategies.

This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Global Pre-Sales Engineering, offering opportunities for leadership, innovation, and cross-regional collaboration to strengthen long-term partnerships and technical support.


Key Responsibilities

Drive strategic sales growth by:

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships across the EU, assessing needs, and developing bespoke technical solutions.
  • Engaging proactively to understand current and emerging customer requirements through coaching and strategic dialogue.
  • Providing expert technical guidance—answering complex queries, reviewing RFPs, and delivering pre-sales engineering support.
  • Identifying high-potential prospects and assisting in sales call preparation via market insights.
  • Collaborating with internal and external engineering teams to refine technical specifications and nest cost evaluations based on customer literacy.
  • Serving as a trusted technical advisor for all ZPE and Legrand products, ensuring seamless product training, positioning, and commercialisation.
  • Building customer-facing technical assets, including proposals, whitepapers, and shaping email flows that accelerate sales enablement.

Ensure the continuation of ZPE’s technical credibility, by:

  • Keeping technical leadership through certified training, industry publications, or certifications.
  • Documenting key insights, trends, and proposals in sales engineering reports to inform the roadmap.
  • Contributing agile insights to deliver evolving pre-sales processes and meet commercial targets.

Foster internal collaboration to achieve team goals:

  • Actively supporting planning discussions, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Working cross-functionally with DSAs, account managers, and technical specialisation cohorts.

Core Requirements

Education & Technical Foundations

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications (bonus): Microsoft (e.g., MCSE), Linux (e.g., Red Hat) , or Cisco specialisations.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL), and MacOS.

Hard Skills

  • Networking and Routing Protocols (experience with VPNs: IPsec, SSL VPN, WireGuard).
  • HDX / Virtualisation: Hands on working with VMs, Docker, KVM, and PDU/Console Servers.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in sales engineering, field enablement engineering, or customer-focused technical roles.
  • Proven ability in sourcing, negotiating, and closing complex sales cycles.

Soft Skills

  • Wolverine persistence: Outperform on sales outcomes with unshakeable confidence in rigour and / or research.
  • Clarity and persuasiveness: Present complex concepts in simple terms — for both teched and non-teched customers.
  • Relationship mastery: Exceed expectations with totally consultative relationship management.
  • Liferaft skills: Debug visual and platform volt options from the customer inlet.
