Title - Sales Engineer
Department: Applied Sales – Direct / Contractor Channel
Location: Northern Home Counties
Territory: North London, Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire
The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving order intake growth across the direct contractor channel within the defined territory.
The role focuses on developing strong relationships with M&E contractors, securing project-based equipment orders, and positioning Carrier Applied HVAC solutions (chillers, heat pumps, airside systems) as the preferred choice for commercial and industrial applications.
The individual will operate within a high-performance, productivity-led sales model, with clear accountability for delivering annual order intake aligned to business expectations.
What will you be doing?
- Deliver and exceed annual order intake targets within the defined territory
- Identify, develop, and convert project opportunities with M&E contractors and key supply chain partners
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key contractors, developers, and project stakeholders
- Promote and sell the full range of Applied HVAC solutions including: Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled) Heat pumps and low-carbon solutions Air handling units and applied airside systems
- Position Carrier solutions around energy efficiency, lifecycle cost, and compliance with UK legislation and decarbonisation targets
- Lead commercial negotiations in line with Carrier policies, pricing governance, and margin expectations

Requirements
- Proven experience in technical sales within HVAC, building services, or related engineering sector
- Ideally have experience selling applied HVAC products (chillers, heat pumps, AHUs)
- Established network within M&E contractor community in the Northern Home Counties / London region
- Ideally have knowledge of decarbonisation, heat pump applications, and relevant UK legislation
- Strong understanding of the UK construction market and contractor relationships
- Experience selling capital equipment on a project/contract basis
- Commercially astute with the ability to negotiate and close complex deals
- Strong pipeline management and forecasting discipline
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong relationship builder with excellent communication skills

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between £42,000.00-£84,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
