Job Title: Sales Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join us at Underwrite Me and help drive deal success across our UK and US markets. You will partner with Sales and Customer Success Managers to capture and validate technical requirements, execute demos, build PoC’s and provide technical ownership throughout the sales cycle from discovery to go-live.
What you will be doing
You will be the implementation expert for our Decision Platform and AI Engine, working with a variety of stakeholders (both internally and externally) to help qualify deals, provide solution designs and assist on deal strategies. You will work closely with customers to identify and solve problems, developing benefit cases that our products can deliver against. This will require some occasional travel (1-2 times a quarter) to customer offices in the UK and US. When not working deals, you will help develop materials and assets to better enable sales and customer success teams share technical information confidently and clearly.
What type of person fits the role
You are a commercially minded problem-solver with strong ambition to help customers identify and remove pain. You have solid technical abilities and can hold high-value conversations with both business and technical customer stakeholders. You can frame client problems and solutions clearly, distinguishing between stated requirements, underlying needs, and potential ways forward. You have solid experience supporting complex enterprise deals with long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and formal procurement processes.
Role requirements
Essential
- 5-10 years' experience supporting enterprise-scale sales cycles, ideally in SaaS
- Proven experience with API-based integration methods, best practices, and related tools/frameworks (REST/JSON APIs, Postman)
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting complex sales cycles, collaborating on RFPs, and formal procurement activities
Nice to have
- Experience with technical aspects of MEDDPICC or BANT frameworks
- Experience of Underwriting, InsureTech, or adjacent regulated industries
- Engineering or coding expertise (e.g. Scripting, Python, SQL)
