Sales Engineer – Industrial Environmental Services – London
About the Company
Our client is a well-established international business in the environmental services sector, providing advanced industrial purification and filtration solutions that help companies reduce their environmental impact across a wide range of industries. Active in multiple European markets and growing quickly, the company is now building out its commercial team in the United Kingdom and is looking for a driven sales professional to help expand its client base.
The Opportunity
This is a genuine new-business "hunter" role. Demand for sustainable industrial purification is rising fast, and you will be the person opening doors — identifying, winning and developing new clients across key UK industries, and matching the right technical solution to each prospect. Based in London, you will own your territory commercially, with the backing of in-house application specialists and an internal sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Win new business: generate, develop and close opportunities within strategic target markets in your territory, including representing the company at industry trade events during the year.
- Shape the solution: combine your own technical and commercial judgement with the support of in-house specialists to tailor proposals to each client's process and requirements.
- Be on the road: regular travel within your territory (around three days a week is typical), with the occasional overnight stay each month and periodic visits to the group's head office in mainland Europe.
- Manage your pipeline: keep opportunities up to date in a sales-focused CRM platform and maintain consistent follow-up with contacts across purchasing, process engineering and plant management.
- Handle quotations: working alongside the internal sales team, prepare and present offers and respond to incoming enquiries quickly and professionally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
